Periodically, the Visual Analytics Community will feature a full-length article on timely topics related to visual analytics. For the current articles, visit the Research Articles page. All community members are encouraged to submit articles.
We’d like to welcome two new members to our growing Visual Analytics Community Consortium. Centrifuge® Systems enables analysts to discover non-obvious relationships and significant insights within their data, and allows analysts to easily combine disparate data sources and explore multiple data visualizations in a single integrated workspace. Mobile Epiphany creates enterprise class mobile solutions that improve workflow and productivity across a variety of industries.
The Conference on Visualization and Data Analysis (VDA) covers all research and development and application aspects of data visualization and, more recently, visual analytics. VDA 2012 will be held in San Francisco January 22-26.
The 11th Workshop on Visual Analytics for Network Operations and Health was held November 29 to December 1st in Vancouver, Canada. This workshop brought together operational users, developers and researchers to explore how visual technologies can support network health assessment and management for military and civil applications. The 2011 VAC Consortium Meeting was held on May 3 and 4 at the University of Maryland Conference Center. Over a hundred people from government, industry, and academia around the world who are working every day to transform ideas into visual analytics solutions met to hear success stories, discuss challenges, see the latest in visual analytics software and emerging research, and connect with the community.More...

The National Science Foundation has awarded funding to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Drexel University to create the Center on Visual and Decision Informatics (CVDI).
